Front-end Web Developer

Working with Us

We know it takes all kinds of talent to deliver great marketing. That’s why we work together in a supportive team environment to deliver best-in-class marketing for our clients and our own businesses.

This means we value being able to solve interesting challenges with the latest technologies and design techniques for both businesses and organisations in Australia and overseas.

We have also designed and launched our own mobile app that helps political parties and non-profits around the globe to champion their causes.

We are looking for an experienced and nimble front-end developer that wants to grow with us as we grow our business.

How Your Role Will Be Different

As front-end developer at WebEdge, we want you to collaborate closely with designers, strategists, and account managers to create professional, marketing-focused websites, landing pages, online stores and web apps for our clients and in-house products.

Everything you build at WebEdge should provide a rich yet intuitive user experience, be lightning fast, include search engine optimisation (where applicable) and deliver an equally great experience on any device. Above all else, it will focus on increasing the marketing result.

We often leverage our network of specialist contractors around the world to achieve certain technical requirements or overcome time restraints. To this end, you should be confident in communicating with and managing remote contractors.

WebEdge aims to be at the forefront of web design, user experience and conversion optimisation so it’s critical that you take responsibility for keeping yourself and the team abreast of the latest front-end development workflows and trends including UI/UX.

We specialise in websites and apps for political parties, non-profits and causes, so while client liaison isn’t part of the role, you’ll need to be comfortable working on these projects in a professional and non-partisan manner.

Our in-house team is small and nimble so you should be happy to help out with anything around the office such as setting up a new laptop or handling server maintenance.

We want experience with:

• HTML, CSS, SCSS (at a high proficiency level)
• JavaScript (incl. jQuery)
• Photoshop
• 3+ years in an agency or other marketing focused environment

It would be great if you had experience with:

• PHP for basic scripting and API integrations
• WordPress for client websites and online stores
• MVC frameworks or any other JS frameworks (React, Angular, etc)
• Git and pre-processing workflows
• Basic VPS administration
• Shopify or Liquid code
• Visual / UI design

Sales, strategy, client management, copywriting, design and development – every discipline is essential. Every team member’s contribution is valued and respected.

Not only do we collaborate to create great ideas, but we also innovate on the fly to meet deadlines and resolve potential problems.

We don’t sell anything we don’t believe in. Everyone at WebEdge has a passion for delivering a quality product, and no less.
